Local High School Teacher Honored for Academic Excellence

Abigail Brown is among 110 educators nationwide
receiving cash awards from RadioShack Corporation

Fort Worth, Texas - March 18, 2003 - RadioShack Corporation (NYSE: RSH) has
presented a 2003 RadioShack National Teacher Award (RSNTA) to Abigail Brown,
math teacher at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, Calif. Brown received
a $3,000 cash award, and was among 110 educators receiving RadioShack
National Teacher Awards this year for demonstrating a commitment to academic
excellence in mathematics, science or technology.

In addition, Torrey Pines High School will receive a $500 RadioShack Tech
Tool Grant. The school may use the grant to buy equipment, software or
supplies to enhance the learning experience for students in the classroom.

"I enjoy combining my interests in mathematics, computers and graphic design
to create projects and activities to help my students learn," Brown said.
"The RadioShack National Teacher Award recognizes my efforts to incorporate
computers and the Internet into my classroom."

Brown, an educator for seven years, teaches algebra and calculus. She earned
a bachelor of science degree in mathematics in 1996 from Harvey Mudd College
(Claremont, Calif.) and a master of arts degree in mathematics in 1997 from
Claremont (Calif.) Graduate University.

Brown is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics,
California Mathematics Council and Computer Using Educators. She also has
her own Web site at www.abbymath.com.

"It's fun and exciting working with young people," Brown said, "and
interacting with my students is what's most rewarding about being a
teacher."

The RSNTA recipients will be recognized at the National Science Teachers
Association (NSTA) convention, which will be held March 27-30, 2003, in
Philadelphia, Penn. Leonard Roberts, chairman and chief executive officer of
RadioShack Corporation, will present the individual awards during a
reception and dinner at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel on March 28.

Since the RadioShack National Teacher Awards program began in 1988,
RadioShack has awarded over $4.5 million in cash and prizes to 1,440
individuals for their commitment, excellence and innovation in the
classroom.

"The RadioShack National Teacher Awards help motivate talented professionals
to develop innovative teaching methods to educate our children, because
understanding math, science and technology is key to a successful future in
any field," Moore said.

The National Teacher Awards program is funded by RadioShack Corporation and
is endorsed by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. The
program is open to all accredited public and private high schools. A panel
of distinguished educators selects the prize recipients.
