| Outline of American History - This is a great source. It is very detailed. There is a ton of information which is broken into time periods. Make sure that you click on the first four chapters: Early America, The Colonial Period, The Road to Independence and The Formation of a National Government. |

These pages provide an overview of the seventeenth-century successes of English and French-dominated colonies, once they discarded Spanish methods and attempted to find their own.
