The International Rescue Committee (www.theirc.org) is a non-sectarian, non-profit  agency that provides humanitarian aid to refugees worldwide.  The IRC consistently receives high marks from charity watchdog groups for its efficient use of its resources and financial support and its effectiveness in carrying out its mission.  For instance, the IRC earned an A+ in the American Institute of Philanthropy Charity Rating Guide.  

Doctors Without Borders (http://doctorswithoutborders.org) is an international independent organization that provides medical care to people affected by natural and man-made disasters.  The organization was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999 for their humanitarian work.
