Check the daily agenda on the board as you come into class.

Fill out your student agenda with that day’s homework as soon as you sit down at your desk.

Come to class prepared with appropriate materials: pen, paper, appropriate handouts, and homework that is due.

Stay attentive and participate in class discussions.  These actions greatly influence comprehension.

Complete assignments and turn in work on time.

Monitor your grade in the class by checking the posted grades at least once every 2 weeks.

On the day you return to school after an absence, follow up with the teacher to find out what material and assignments you missed and how to make them up.

Ask questions when you need clarification.

Check you child’s agenda daily to make sure they are writing down their homework.

Check their homework for completion and quality.

Help your student to stay organized with different sections in a binder for each of the different classes.

Check this website for weekly homework updates.

Monitor your child's grade by accessing the Aeries Parent Portal.

Come to Back to School Night.

Be aware of the class policies.

Provide time and a distraction-free space for your student to do homework.

Be aware of due dates; help your student learn time management by teaching them the value of doing small increments of homework instead of trying to do it all at the last minute.

Keep your student at school; plan vacations during school breaks and holidays.  Refer to the History department's absence policy.

Provide daily agenda on whiteboard in class, including the daily homework assignments.

Update grades and pass back graded work on a regular basis so that students may monitor their own progress.

Respond promptly to parents' questions and concerns.

Check in with students to check on their level of understanding of the subject matter.

Plan and implement meaningful and engaging  standards-driven lessons to meet all students’ diverse learning needs.

Provide hands-on activities for student engagement.

    Provide safe learning atmosphere.

Maintain a respectful and structured  classroom environment.

Collaborate with staff and administration regarding curriculum and student concerns.

Keep an open door policy for student questions and concerns.
