Begin working on character interview.  Working with a partner, you are going to interview one of the characters from the novel.  Your interview may take on many forms.  For example, you might be a priest taking “confession.”  You might be a television interviewer, such as Barbara Walters.  You might be a psychiatrist.  You might be on a date.  You might be God.  Together, you are going to write a script about your character in the future.  Someone (you decide) is “interviewing” the character about the events on the island and that character’s involvement.  You must include ten direct quotes by that character and you must ask questions about those quotes and or the actions the quotes describe.  The character must try to justify himself.  You will present this to the class.  You may use props and costumes.

Homework – Read ch. 8 LOTF and do study questions.  Complete the letter home at the bottom of the sheet.  It must be at least 5 sentences in the voice of the character you’re pretending to be.
