TRYOUT INFORMATION

2011 GIRL’S VOLLEYBALL LA COSTA CANYON      

 

Tryouts for the La Costa Canyon Girl’s Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman volleyball teams will be held in the LCC gymnasium and will begin Monday August 15th and conclude Friday August 19th.  Players should be available to tryout anytime between 8:00am and 6:00pm throughout the entire five days.  The daily tryout schedule will vary depending on the number of players, gym availability and student registration schedule.  The initial reporting times are:

 

Freshmen – Monday Aug. 15, 10:00am – 12:30             

Upper classmen – Monday Aug. 15  1:00  – 5:00pm

 

BLUE CARDS – Only students who are issued “Blue Cards” (tryout authorizations cards) will be allowed to tryout.  Blue cards will be available beginning August 8th  8:00am – noon in the Athletic office.

Sports packets are available from Nancy Wease in the Athletic office beginning June 1st.                                                                                                              Sports physicals through the school are on Thursday, June 9th  in the LCC gym for a suggested donation of $25.  This is a fundraiser for Maverick Athletics.  If you choose to not go through the school, your physical must be performed by a licensed physician.

 

Every player is expected to report to tryouts in top physical shape.  There could be up to four hours of tryouts per day.  Conditioning will be a factor in selections for each team.  Every student trying out will be expected to run ˝ mile for time.

 

*There will be a meeting for parents on Monday August 15th (first day of tryouts) at 6:30pm in the LCC gym to answer questions and explain the tryout process.  Attendance is optional.
