"My education includes an M.
Ed. in School Librarianship and a C.A.G.S. (Certificate in Advanced Graduate
Studies) in Library Media and Educational Technology from Boston University. I have
been a public school library media teacher (LMT)
for 33 years and
Torrey Pines
Library Media Center has been my home for more than 24 years. Before moving to
California, I spent ten years as a LMT in Massachusetts and two years as a New
Jersey classroom teacher.
In 1987, several parents and I founded the Friends of the
Library. Friends is a booster group within the TPHS Foundation.
Today, it continues to be
an ever-evolving, dynamic and supportive advocacy group. Friends' financial and wide-ranging
community support has positively impacted our collection and offerings to students and
teachers. Throughout my tenure at TPHS, I've
participated in writing many State grants. From 1998-2002, I served as
site Digital High School Coordinator for technology which over the course of
three years brought more than $2M to Torrey Pines.
This year
(2008-09), I will continue to work
closely with Friends of the Library parent group,
the AVID site committee and the Site Technology Committee.
I am also a member of the California State Library Association
(CSLA).
In
Spring 2008, I formed a Technology Committee composed of students, teachers,
parents and District Technology Director to write a proposal to the TPHS
Foundation for inclusion into its Shared Visions for 2008-2009.
"Taking Technology to Next Level" was approved and will be part of the
Foundation's fundraising goals this year. Donations may be made
through the TPHS Foundation

In April 1999, my article "You've Got
a Friend" appeared in the professional periodical, School Library Journal.
Other articles about the TPHS Library Media Center have appeared in the CSLA Journal. Since
1997, I've also presented many sessions about Friends at
CSLA and county conferences.
