Health Course Info

Health is offered as a part of Introduction to Dance.  Students are issued a textbook and are expected to keep up with Unit reading.  Health Classes meet on Friday of every week.

Erica Buechner: Improvisation

Erica Buechner has been performing professionally in San Diego since 1999.  She has worked most extensively with Mojalet Dance Collective, under the direction of Faith Jensen-Ismay.  Erica has also performed for Eveoke Dance Theatre, Patricia Sandback and Dancers, Malashock Dance, The PGK Project, Heather Zornes-Almanza and Dancers and Joe Alter Dance Group.  She graduated from SDSU in 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance.  Erica has presented work at the Celebrate Dance Festival, 4x4 and 4x4xFloor at the Bluefoot Bar, Café Mojalet, The Vine in Rancho Bernardo, Opus Mixtus’ Ignite, Mojalet’s workshop performances, and through the studios that she teaches at.  She is also a resident choreographer for d’shire dance.

Ericka Moore: Jazz & Hip Hop

Ericka Aisha Moore (Eveoke Dance Theatre)  believes in the impact of art (dance) to empower individuals, which therefore empowers community. Since starting to study dance (jazz, ballet, modern, and hip-hop) seriously at the age of 15, Ericka has been driven to perform and to create pieces that speak about the world she lives in. Ericka has been a professional dancer for Eveoke Dance Theatre since 1997, performing in over 17 full-length shows as a principal dancer. Ericka has danced with the Colette Harding Contemporary Dance Company (San Diego), PGK Dance Project (San Diego), and HydroFlo (New York).  Currently, Ericka is Director of the Apprentice Company, Master Teacher Artist and Resident Choreographer for Eveoke Dance Theatre and on faculty at Palomar Community College; teaching Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop. Ericka has worked as a guest choreographer for Envision Dance Conservatory (Romeo and Juliet) and recently has been hire to teach the Dance Lab Class and guest Jazz/Modern teacher for the Envision Dance Conservatory.

Ryan Beck: Ballet

Mr. Beck began his training under the instruction of Teresa Wells. Later he studied at Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. He holds a degree in Ballet from the North Carolina School of the Arts where he studied under the instruction of Melissa Hayden, Warren Conover, Susan McCullough and Duncan Noble. He has choreographed works seen nationwide in New York City, Seattle, Chicago Washington DC, North Carolina. Mr. Beck has been a featured guest artist with San Diego Ballet, Harbor Ballet, Spindle City Ballet, Island Moving Company and Ballet Rox. Mr. Beck has had works created on him by many contemporary choreographers including Steve Rooks, Lina Puodziukaite and Lynn Taylor Corrbett. He is a sought after partner and has partnered members of ABT, Boston Ballet and New York City Ballet. His Favorite roles include: Jose Limons "Unsung", and Balanchine works including "Stars and Stripes", "Allegro Brilliante", and "Scottish Symphony." In New York he is a founding Director of FARMdance. Recently He Co Founded The Garage in San Diego.

Envision Dance Performance Information

Body of Poetry:

We will begin constructing pieces upon return from Spring Break. 

Dancers will be in tech/dress rehearsal on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 25th and 26th, from 3:30-6 pm, in the Proscenium Theater.

**Performance Dates**

Thursday, May 27th 4 & 7 PM

Friday, May 28th 4 & 7 PM

Dancers will be able to purchase Subway dinner, with a choice of a turkey or a veggie sub, through the finance office.  Dinner for one night will be $6.50, and $13 for both nights.  Dancers can pay and turn in receipts to Rayna Stohl.  Please write your preference of turkey or veggie on your receipt.  Payment is due by Friday, May 21st, at the latest.

Tickets are available online through Vendini, located on the Envision Website.  Please purchase in advance.
