Composition Scavenger Hunt –
Part 2: Team Project

Objective:

To create photographs that illustrates each of the elements of good composition.  By collaborating with your partner, you can help each other see and create striking photographic images from around the campus of LCC.  

Members of your team will have to take photographs of EACH of these techniques: 

• Keep it simple/Move in close/Fill the frame
• Rule of thirds
• Leading lines Include a strong center of interest
• Foreground framing
• “S” Curve
• Symmetrical balance
• Asymmetrical balance
• Rhythm
• Pattern
• Texture
• Keep subject busy
• Emotion
• Bug’s eye view
• Bird’s eye view
• Avoid mergers

Procedure:  Walk around campus with your partner.  Together discuss what you see and what subjects might make a good photograph.  Take turns with the camera. 

When you and your partner are finished taking all of your photos for each technique, you will send them to me the same way you did the first part of this assignment.

After you are satisfied with your photos, you and your partner will pick one that best exemplifies each of the 15 elements of composition and create a poster in Photoshop.

Grading:  

You and your partner will be graded on: 

1.       Completeness 5 pts.

2.     Creativity: 5 pts.

3. Resulting images that you produced: 5 pts.

4. Partisipation: 5 pts

    Total Points Possible: 20 points
