It's no
secret that great product photography increases sales and lends
professionalism and credibility to products and the people selling them.
Your job as a product photographer is to make the client’s products look
their absolute best. Take your time on every piece; give each shot the
individual attention it deserves. The results are beautifully clean,
crisp images that show the client’s products in their best light.
However,
before we start creating product ads, you need to be able to recognize
what components make up a good product advertisement. The most
successful advertisements have many - sometimes all - of the following
components.
-
Attention-getting Phrase – something that grabs the consumers’
interest and makes them to want to read on.
-
Product Photo
– a photograph that shows the product/service at its best.
-
Descriptive Text
– What makes this product so special; why the customer should buy
this brand over another.
-
Company Name
– The name of the organization that wants you to buy their product
or service
-
Company Address
– Where the corporate offices of the company are located.
-
Contact
Information – Where the consumer can get more information about
or order the product in the advertisement.
-
Company Slogan
–
a distinctive
motto, catchword or catch phrase.
-
Company Insignia
– a distinguishing emblem usually registered and protected by
trademark laws (®) or (™), and is recognizable by the public and
associated with a particular product line.
In order
to do this, you must look at advertisements and decide what components
make up a winning ad.
Below are three examples of advertisements, and the components each
contains:
