Photography Booklet Project

Portraits
 

Work with a partner to create a booklet that shows off different aspects of portraits- lighting, poses, and differences in how light affects the look of a portrait.  You will use the pictures that you find on the internet to provide the examples in your booklet.

 

You will need to include all of the following in your booklet:

 

1.  Types of poses (7 due):

• Close-up of a face

• Head and shoulders of one person

• Torso shot of one or two people

• Three-quarters length shot of one or two people

• One full-length vertical

• Profile shot of one or two people

• Silhouette of a person

 

2.  Lighting conditions (2 due):

• Diffuse light- one shot in open shade or overcast light with little or no shadows

• Hard light- one shot in sunlight or studio light with strong shadows

 

3.  Portrait lighting (4 due):

• Broad or Front lighting of one or two people

• Split lighting of one or two people

• Rembrandt lighting of one or two people

• Backlighting or Rim Light on one or two people

 

A total of 13 photos are due!

 

Put into a powerpoint. Put 4 pictures on each slide. Write  next to each photograph what technique listed above you are using for an example.  .
