This activity simulates lawmaking in the U.S. Senate. Each person in the class will be part of a Senate subcommittee team considering legislation on human cloning that originated in the House. As a team member your task will be to investigate the implications of human cloning and propose legislation that will either support or reject this idea. When all information is presented the full committee will vote on the proposed legislation.

Teams will consist of 4 members each. Follow the instructions on the Clone Project handouts carefully. Many of the sources of information that you will need are provided for you. Some are Internet sources, some are library sources--many of which can be found through the Guide to Periodical Literature in our Media Center.  You are to use both Internet and non-Internet sources for your research.

Grades for this project will be based on both individual and group output as indicated in the handouts.

All subcommittee members are expected to act in an adult, responsible and business like manner. All debate in committee or in the Senate will be directed at the legislation under consideration and not be in the nature of personal attacks.
