ADVANCED PLACEMENT UNITED STATES HISTORY
SUMMER ASSIGNMENT


Students enrolled in Advanced Placement United States History are required to have completed the following assignments for the first class meeting in the fall:

             1.        Read Chapters 1-6 in The American Journey - check out your copy in the Textbook room (See below). A comprehensive multiple  choice/essay exam will be
                    
administered on these chapters on the second class meeting. This exam has a grade value of one  unit exam.

2.        Detailed chapter notes/outline on each of the assigned chapters. The chapter notes must be hand written and include information about the important people, events, concepts, and chronology covered in the respective chapter. A fair estimation is about 6-8 pages of notes per chapter. Please note Xerox type copies of notes will not be accepted for a credit.  This assignment has a value of 200 grade points. Due the day of the exam on Chapters 1-6.  The Chapter notes may be use during the exam.

Book Pick-up:
Books will be available for check-out in the Torrey Pines Textbook Room during the last week of school.
Note: All of the current year's textbooks must be returned to the Textbook Room before we will issue new books.

 Contact your counselor for class registration.  Once registered, the book may be  checked out from the Registrar’s Office
